The Impact of the Sensory Systems

Description

This presentation will include a description of each of the sensory systems including the visual, vestibular, tactile, auditory, proprioceptive, oral, and olfactory systems. The presentation will go into how and when each system develops and what signs EI therapists should look for to identify atypical vs typical development and dysregulation for each of the individual systems. This will include identification of hyper or hypo sensitivities within the systems. Lastly, examples of interventions will be provided for each of the sensory systems that can be used to regulate them and help children increase attention and participation in their EI sessions.
