This training will cover the HIPAA law, including the updates to HITECH, and how it pertains to therapists working with families. It will cover how to discuss the law with families and how to ensure that they understand their rights. It will cover common situations related to confidentiality that clinicians experience when serving families. Mandated reporting and the specifics of the law as it pertains to therapists during home visits will be covered. Therapist will leave have a strong knowledge base of what their responsibilities are as a mandated reporter, when and what to report as specified by the law, and how to make a report.
