Facilitating Developmental Capacities for Social Engagement and Learning in Infants and Young Children Using the DIR/Floortime Model

Description

This course describes a multidisciplinary approach for diagnosis and treatment of infants and young children experiencing delays or deficits in relating and communicating to others and with sensory processing and motor delays. This is a family centered approach that builds on the parents relationship with the child to help them shift the child’s developmental trajectory, and to facilitate the developmental process by interacting with the child in a manner that recognizes and accounts for their individual differences in communication, sensory processing, motor development, and social engagement.
