Intervention for Complex Feeding Disorders: Infants and Toddlers

Description

This workshop will focus on implementing strategies to prevent and treat complex feeding and swallowing disorders in infants and toddlers across multiple settings including the NICU, Early Intervention/home, and outpatient settings. Participants will develop strong skills in interpreting case histories and will learn how to use this knowledge to implement change. Focus is placed on clinical decision making and direct treatment strategies. Discussion will include implications of the etiology of feeding and swallowing disorders on treatment, outcomes and priority setting. Videos of modified barium swallowing studies will be used. Detailed discussion of medically fragile infants will also be provided.
