Sensory Tool Kit

Description

Open to all who work and live with infants, preschool, and elementary age children. Level is beginner and intermediate. A unique hands-on, highly participatory FUN workshop. Demonstrates how to enhance environments by making them "sensory safe" for students, parents, and teachers. Attendees will experience what it is like to have sensory challenges and learn how to use chair balls in classrooms, daycares, and homes by participating during the hands-on lab work. The Sensory Tool Kit workshop reviews current research, and case studies using the Sensory Processing Measures. The SPMs Quick Tips will be introduced for team empowerment and data driven intervention using sensory-based strategies. These are to be integrated into the fabric of the child's everyday like throughout school, home, and in the community. Opportunities for research to promote evidence based practice will be included.
