Sensory Styles, Anxiety, Stress, Personality and Relationships.

Description

In this workshop, we will discuss functional behaviors across a continuum which may develop as a result of the complex interaction and integration of the many forces. These experiences may impact 'personality' style, which in turn may have an impact on the child's developing relationships.
We will discuss how both typical and atypically developing infants and children may navigate the many neural experiences which may be informing that child's 'decisions',' implicitly or explicitly, which may or may not result in observed behavior.
We will explore the possibilities of 'sorting' sensory or behavior, being mindful that these processes are intricately linked. Evaluations tools commonly used in early intervention will be discussed in terms of their usefulness for informing sensory behaviors, and we will bridge that discussion to the potential impact it may have on the child - caregiver relationship.
