Supporting Families When Children's Behavior Becomes Challenging!

Description

This pre-conference will help early interventionists support families of infants and toddlers with challenging behavior. Using a social emotional lens to understand the dynamics of challenging behavior, participants will begin to understand the impact these challenging behaviors have on parents and other caregivers, as well as identify elements of an effective and collaborative intervention plan, which will support the child and family. Family stories and videos will be used to demonstrate the use of a positive behavior support plan, including the use of individualized, intensive strategies aimed at supporting the child in his/her daily routines and activities.
