Competency vs. Compensation – A Multi-Disciplinary Approach to Assessment of Tongue Tie and Lip Tie and the Impact on Total Wellness

Description

This workshop will provide training and instruction in the identification of the signs and symptoms of tongue tie and lip tie; assessment for lip and tongue tie; and a description of the kind of improvements in speech and feeding skills that might be expected after treatment.

Learner Objectives: Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

1. Identify signs and symptoms and potential implications of tongue tie and lip tie.

2. Accurately describe proper techniques and skills to assess for tongue tie and lip tie.

3. Describe three functions that can be improved after release of oral restriction.
