How to Use an iPad as a Visual Communication Hub for People with Disabilities

Description

This will be a pre-conference forum the day before “The Arc of Illinois Autism Conference” on how Assistive Technology helps individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities live full and abundant lives by using technology to assist with communication, education, employment, community living and independence. Patti Boheme, Vice-President of the Little Friends Center for Autism and Carol Paske, Parent Coach, Little Friends Consultant, will lead the discussion on how the iPad will open new doors for individuals to communicate and make a dramatic difference in their life. This tool works for parents and providers and is specific to the individual. Interactive group activity will teach participants how to develop a program. If you have an iPad or are going to receive one for your child or a person you are providing services for, this will be a very helpful, innovative training for you to attend!
