Functional Use of the Upper Extremity in the Neurologically Involved Child: Integrating Biomechanics, Intention, & Movement for Improved Outcomes

This course is designed for occupational therapists, certified
occupational therapy assistants, physical therapists, and physical therapy assistants.

This two day workshop will provide clinicians with an
enhanced ability to analyze, plan and implement treatment strategies which improve function for the pediatric client. This dynamic learning opportunity will aide therapists in developing their clinical reasoning, task analysis and
intervention methods through a variety of learning
modalities. Application of biomechanical impairments and how they affect upper extremity movement and function will be emphasized. Treatment strategies to enhance
participation for toddlers through adolescents will be
provided. Participants would benefit from knowledge of normal and abnormal development prior to attending this course.
