'Developmentally Appropriate Practices' Infant/Toddler Assessment Institute

Description Professionals in the field of early intervention require a strong foundation of how to obtain assessment information that is an accurate representation of a child's true abilities, not just how a child performs during testing. This three-session, linked series is designed to enhance participants' knowledge of developmentally appropriate assessment practices in their day-to-day work in early intervention. Roadblocks and challenges from the field will be considered throughout the Institute. Whether determining eligibility, designing a new IFSP, or collecting ongoing assessment information about a child's progress over time, this Institute series informs and supports evidence based recommended practices.
One day of this series includes a multidisciplinary panel comprised of an OT, PT, SLP, and DT who will discuss various assessment tools, methods of assessment, and the team approach.
Sessions are filled with discussion, video, group activities along with the completion of required assignments between sessions (reading, videotaping, etc.). Participants of this Institute will also receive a Division for Early Childhood (DEC) publication.

Session 1 - Friday, October 9
Session 2 - Monday, October 26
Session 3 - Thursday, November 19
Session 4 - Tuesday, December 8
