What Distinguishes Social Work and Psychological Services from Other EI Services

Description

Social Work and Psychological Services are two (2) of the 16 services families of eligible children may receive through the EI System. Moreover, the personal-social domain is one of the critical five domains requiring evaluation in order to determine eligibility for the program. The purpose of this seminar is to generate discussion regarding the significant role providers from these specialties may play in furthering achievement of functional goals and to clarify pertinent policies and procedures Service Coordinators must follow. Utilizing a lecture-discussion format the seminar will address what distinguishes Social Work and Psychological Services from other EI services and how the EI principles, policies and procedures are implemented. Case vignettes will be created to afford specific content for discussion of eligibility determination, IFSP construction, and teaming.
