Parents with Intellectual Disabilities: An Informative Discussion for Early Interventionists

Description

Working with parents who have intellectual disabilities is a topic that has been increasingly common among Early Interventionists who work with families. This workshop will focus on information from the National Council on Disabilities and the 2012 report on "Rocking the Cradle: Ensuring the Rights of Parents with Disabilities." Information and statistics on parents of children who have intellectual disabilities will be discussed, as well as information on how Early Interventionists can model the Early Intervention philosophy of "parents as the primary interventionists."
