Supporting families in our role was the focus of the discussion for Case Consultation - July 2015. SCs often support families who have different responses to EI services and the evaluation process, their child's developmental growth and concerns about the future. This discussion is a chance to understand the varied emotional responses that SCs may observe with families. What can be most challenging for the SC is working with parents who are worried, upset or not fully understanding EI. On an occasion parents who are feeling worried or stressed can respond in ways that are hard the SC to understand or know how to best help the family.
