Overview of Pediatric Feeding Disorders

Description

The workshop will describe the different organ systems and muscles involved in eating, as well as a description of what a feeding disorder is. The three different feeding disorders will be discussed: organic/medical, sensory-based, and behavioral-based. The presentation will conclude with the differences between picky eaters and true feeding difficulties and how to help families understand these differences to become active collaborators in the treatment process. Active discussion and participation from workshop participants is encouraged.
