Infectious Diseases and their impact on young children and families

Description

This presentation was on common childhood infectious diseases like measles, mumps, chicken pox, fifth disease, hand foot and mouth, and how they effect infants and young children as well as how they can effect a developing fetus when the mother contracts the disease during pregnancy. Emphasis was placed on incubation periods and how EI personnel can be vigilant about stopping the spread of infection to protect children and families they are working with. Impact on children with pre-existing health and developmental challenges was discussed.
