Domestic Violence and Families

Description

Domestic Violence impacts every race, religion, profession and socioeconomic group. It is a common occurrence for people to not understand why the victim stays and to blame the victim for the abuse.
This two hour workshop is designed to address the need of Early Intervention service coordinators and providers to know the signs and "symptoms" of the different kinds of violence to help the families as well as be prepared themselves for what they may encounter in the home. This will help the professionals be more empathetic with the decisions the families are making for the child and themselves within early intervention principles.
