In this training we will combine the concepts of how some families may cope with the challenges which may be presented in having a child with developmental delays and possible medical issues. Based on articles and research done by psychologists who specialize in loss and disabilities, a paradigm for understanding how people exhibit and experience coping strategies will be presented.
By understanding the possible dynamics which may effect the parent professional relationship, providers may gain insight in how to better establish a relationship and work with the families they serve.
