Description |
This workshop addresses the social and emotional needs of young children in early childhood settings. Using the manual co-authored by the instructor, you will focus on the relationship-based phase model developed at the Virginia Frank Child Development Center. Used to understand children’s development in groups, the model is an effective way to help teachers and caregivers focus on the developmental needs of young children in order to address challenges, mental health issues, and trauma.
You will have a better understanding of:
the theory behind the relationship-based phase model
the role of the teacher and caregiver in an early childhood setting
the role of the parent in the early childhood setting
the importance of reflective supervision
children’s emotional needs in the context of group care
how to use the model in a classroom setting
