Building Bridges: The Transition Process From Early Intervention to Early Childhood

This collaborative training has been developed to train early childhood and early intervention staff and administrators and parents about the state and federal requirement of transition from early intervention (Part C) to early childhood special education services (Part B). This training will assist EI and school districts in meeting the obligation of IDEA to provide a smooth and effective transition for children and their families from EI to school district services. Topics such as evaluation and eligibility; transition meetings and responsibilities; timelines and best practice recommendations will be discussed. This training is offered in collaboration with the Illinois State Board of Education, the Bureau of Early Intervention, Early Intervention Training Program and Child Find. Note: participants need to download a registration form from the catalog and either fax, scan or mail the registration form to the STAR NET Region VI office. On-line registration is also now available.
