#340 Therapeutic Interventions inNeonatalCare

Description

This course will take the therapist through the life cycle and normal development of an infant in a NICU setting. It will cover assessment of the high risk infant as well as the implementation of various treatment techniques based on evaluative findings. A portion will be dedicated to infant follow-up and identification of emerging disabilities. The philosophy of the course is to provide therapy with a family centered and developmental care approach in order to maximize outcomes when treating this specialized population. For those who desire to start a therapy program, or who recognize the need for change in existing programs, the course will conclude with a section on understanding staff dynamics and suggestions on how to facilitate teamwork in their own nurseries.
