Description |
Every day presents countless opportunities for incorporating therapeutic sensory strategies into a family’s daily routine that will help very young children (as well as their families) find calm, organization, and focus. Participants will review sensory strategies prior to launching into discussion surrounding typical daily routines and ways in which such strategies can be incorporated. The workshop will examine indoor activities, and will introduce participants to the new theories related to the benefits of “green play” outdoors. Participants should look forward to leaving this workshop with a bevy of practical information they’ll be able to use immediately in their practice. If participants don’t know what “the morning wrestle” is– they will by the end of this session!
Participants will be able to:
discuss the basic principles of sensory processing
define routines-based intervention
identify common family routines
define “green play”
develop a routines-based sensory plan to foster optimal development
