Wrightslaw: From Emotions to Advocacy

Description

Wrightslaw is a leading website about special education law and advocacy, with thousands of articles, cases, and free resources... http://www.wrightslaw.com/

Parents, educators, advocates, and attorneys come to Wrightslaw for accurate, reliable information about special education law, education law, and advocacy for children with disabilities.

It has been 9 years since a Wrightslaw Conference has been in Champaign. This is one of the most important conferences parents of a child with special needs will ever attend.

In From Emotions to Advocacy training programs (one day, 6 hours), you will learn how to take an active role in managing your child's special education. You'll learn about key sections in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004, what our child's test scores mean, and how to develop SMART IEPs. Pat will teach you how to prepare for meetings, the gentle art of disagreeing, and how to maintain healthy working relationships with the school.
