Music Together Skills and Songs Workshop Winter 2015

Description

*Pre-Requisite: Registered Music Together Teacher.*

Music and Play...A Fresh Look-
We all know that young children learn through play—and of course, they play with music. You might be surprised to find out how exquisitely connected music and play actually are. Come explore the intricate world of children’s play and see how complex and multi-layered the process is. We will examine the types and stages of music play and how these stages affect the ways in which a child participates in class. We'll discover how to support children and grown-ups in class to play with music—and how, at times, we might get in the way of all that play and learning, without even knowing it! Children's play is serious business, but we'll have a ton of fun learning to see music play through different eyes and to help parents and caregivers see and support all that music play, as well. You won’t want to miss this workshop; it’s chock full of great information and it’s bound to rejuvenate your own natural inclination to play! The afternoon songs workshop for the Winter 2015 features the BELLS song collection. Workshop leaders and selected Music Together teachers lead songs as they would in class. Lively discussions follow each song, with contributions from many experienced teachers. It’s a great way to learn the songs, explore new teaching techniques, and enjoy making music with other inspired teachers! Join us!
