Description |
This training was developed as a way to bridge the gap between Early Intervention and childcare. We explore how the EI system can benefit daycare centers by implementing strategies within their daily routine that will make it easier for children to stay in daycare.
Through the course of this training, we review the role of the Early Intervention speech provider and understand how communication disorders affect children within the daycare setting. We talk about how daycare programs can develop models of care that will help not only the child receiving EI services but also the teachers and class as a whole. We also look at how we can all partner together to ensure that we are sharing appropriate information for the child and family with the daycare teachers so that they can actively participate in strategies.
