Presentation Description: This course will explore the unique opportunities and vital role that OT has in providing
services in the home through the Illinois Early Intervention system. Areas addressed in the session will include:
Cultural awareness, working with interpreters, using items in the home for play and home activities programs,
supervising COTAs, safety awareness, AT equipment and request process, preparing families for transition out of
EI and working as a multi-disciplinary team member within the practice scope of OT.
