The course topics focus on sensory and motor development, feeding, and effective program planning for the medically fragile infant who has been discharged from a hospital to a 0-3 Program.

Upon completion of the course" Selected Clinical Topics - Therapeutic Interventions in OT, PT, and Speech for Birth to Three Years", the participant will be able to:

1. Discuss vital information needed to provide continuing care to a medically fragile infant who has been discharged from a hospital to home.
2. Describe therapeutic interventions that promote the most effective foundation for the acquisition of sensory-motor development.
3. Describe specific orthopaedic issues that can be prevented or diminished by physical therapy intervention.
4. Explain implications of long-term hospitalization and complex medical conditions on sensory development.
5. Discuss feeding challenges post-discharge and identify when to seek additional support and resources.
6. Identify key therapeutic goals and describe practical applications of therapeutic interventions for the intensive care graduate in home or clinic settings.
