Sibshop Facilitator Training Workshop

Description

Siblings have the longest lasting relationships within the family. Brothers and sisters that have a sibling with special needs are more likely to experience unique opportunities along with unique concerns throughout their lives. It is important for parents and providers to learn more about life as a "sib" of a brother or sister with special needs. On October 24 and 25, Advocate Illinois Masonic, Clearbrook and the S.I.B.S. Network will sponsor workshops conducted by Don Meyer, Director of the Sibling Support Project and creator of the Sibshop model. The Sibling Support Project is the national leader in providing training and education on sibling issues and programs.
Target audience: Parents and other adult family mem-bers; service providers from social services, education, mental health and public health fields.
