Self-Regulation strategies and the relation to underlying neurological components

Description

This course targets practitioners servicing individuals with challenges in self-regulation. A unique emphasis will be given on Neurology, Mindfulness, Movement, and Music. The neurological background, in relation to disorders such as ASD, SPD, and ADHD, will be explored. Evidence-based practice will be an integral part of reviewing theories and current treatment techniques. In addition, specific correlations to the Parasympathetic Nervous System will be discussed. Treatment techniques to be analyzed include, music, movement, and vision based therapies. Additional material will address Mindfulness and the correlation to self-regulation.
