Complex Infant Medical Profile Resulting in Atypical Development and Family Care Challenges

Internal Training for CFC staff / service coordinators.
This training will include discussion of atypical developmental challenges faced by infants and toddlers who present with very complex issues resulting in significant fragility. Compromised immune systems, pain management, environmental limitations, medical and developmental unknowns will be discussed and considered in designing and effective team approach to manage the atypical development which presents itself as well as the unpredictable atypical pathways that development may take.
The second half of this presentation will address significant challenges faced by families of children with severe known and unknown issues. It will focus on how to support and empower a family who is attempting to handle extraordinary circumstances in meeting the needs of their child.
