The quality of work performed by any individual is directly correlated to the physical position in which the individual finds themselves-- and this maxim applies to very young children, as well.
This workshop begins with a brief overview of contemporary positioning practices having a dramatic influence on children's early development. When a young child experiences movement challenges due to a diagnosis or developmental delay, their ability to attain or sustain optimal positioning is compromised. Participants in this workshop will be introduced to such concepts as tone, trunk support, and postural security. Most importantly, participants will learn proper positioning techniques to use immediately in their practice with the children they serve, in order to foster optimal participation in relationships and developmental activities.
