Description

Course Description

You received a referral for an infant or child with a complex medical history. Where to start? This course focuses on developmental and therapeutic interventions for the neonatal, cardiac and/or pediatric intensive care graduate leading up to and following discharge. The intensive care environment and goals of inpatient therapy will be discussed as a framework for transition to home. This course will highlight the importance of early interventions, assessment and identification of emerging issues, directed treatment objectives, and importance of communication for optimal care. This course is designed for the therapist treating the birth to three year population in a home or clinic-based setting.

The course will focus on evidence based lectures and discussions. Participants will also have the opportunity to view patient videos, hear how the material is applied through the review of case studies, and participate in Question & Answer sessions.
