How Aural Rehabilitation Can Help Infants and Toddlers with Hearing Loss: Who Can Provide The Service, and How Will this Service Help Families Meet The Outcomes They Have for Their Children?

Description

Different professionals are credentialed to provide aural rehabilitation to young children in early intervention. Where do they differ? Who is the best match for a child and that family’s expected or desired outcomes? Who should be helping families understand this important service for a child with a confirmed hearing loss? How does this service change as children who have hearing aids now receive cochlear implants? This training will provide answers to these questions, separate out the disciplines appropriate to work with children who have hearing loss, and allow for discussion related to the scope and practice of a Developmental Therapist/Hearing
