Description |
Children with complex sensory and behavioral needs face unique challenges in learning, communication, and functional skills. This workshop will review the biologic and experiential factors contributing to these challenges; presenting characteristics in the birth-to-three population; and how speech-language pathologists and occupational therapy professionals can address these concerns to facilitate progress in the young child’s developing functional communication skills. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in practical activities to enhance their ability to incorporate sensory- and behavioral-based strategies into their early intervention practice.
