Early Intervention for Children with Hearing Loss: Case-Based Learning

Description

This intermediate level, interactive seminar will explore problem-solving strategies for SLPs and other early intervention providers serving families of children who are deaf and hard of hearing. Case studies will be used to create dialog and develop strategies regarding coaching families, teaming with providers from other disciplines, current assistive technology, assessing communication development, etc.

Participants will learn to assess family needs so strategies can be developed to ensure positive outcomes, to identify challenges to family and caregiver buy-in, to use assessment tools specific to children who are deaf and hard of hearing, to troubleshoot assistive technology, and to identify public and private resources.
