Description |
OTs and BCBAs both provide services to children with ASD, yet cross-professional collaboration is limited. Participants will learn about behaviorism, differences in professional training and outcomes evaluation, data-driven practices, and strategies to support collaborative relationships with BCBAs.
Learning Objective One: Understand the commonalities and differences in training and scope of practice between occupational therapy and board certified behavior analysts (BCBAs).
Learning Objective Two: Describe evidence-based practices and data-informed decision making, and how the use of such practices have differed between OTs and BCBAs and contributed to the present-day interdisciplinary relationship.
Learning Objective Three: Use reflective and small-group processing to develop a personal plan for building collaborative working relationships with BCBAs.
