Strategies for Incorporating Music When Working with Children with Special Needs

This workshop offers specific strategies and hands-on activities that can be used to incorporate music during therapy sessions when working with young children with special needs, such as those with Autism. Session will include strategies for using music in order to target a variety of expressive and receptive language goals including social engagement, attention, following directions, answering wh- questions, and more. It will also cover recent research on use of music during therapy to achieve speech/ language goals in order to support evidence-based practice. This is a private workshop, and will not be open for the public to attend.
