Language and Vocabulary Development in Children with Hearing Loss

Description

This workshop describes the stages of language development for very young children and provides strategies for increasing vocabulary and understanding across settings and ages. We will share how to support language learners and their parents, from everyday routines in the family home to graphic organizers in the classroom or young children. An emphasis will be on children ages 0-5 who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This workshop is designed for families, teachers and professionals. College students in a related field of study are welcome. Participants should leave with ways to further support language learners of all ages.
