Advanced Study in DIR®/Floortime™: A Developmental Intervention

Description

The DIR®/Floortime™ model is a framework that supports parents, educators, and clinicians from all disciplines: speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, doctors, and clinicians, among others. The assessment and intervention strategies offer options that can be customized to an infant/toddler’s profile. While having an understanding of the model can be vital to interventions, using the model in practice can be challenging. This workshop offers video case studies that will allow participants to experience the DIR®/Floortime™ strategies in action and demonstrate specific skills that will support the practitioner in the development of a robust intervention program.

NOTE: Some prior experience studying and/or using DIR®/Floortime™ is a pre-requisite for this session. Those with little or no experience with the model should see A View From the Floor: An Introduction to the DIR®/Floortime™ Model (view at http://www.erikson.edu/continuing-education/offerings/a-view-from-the-floor-an-introduction-to-the-dirfloortime-model/)
