Description |
In this training we will be discussing the concept of progress in early intervention. Therapy providers are traditionally trained to measure and document progress according to concrete, easily recognizable skill acquisition based on a medical model.
However, in early intervention, there are often other types of progress not traditionally recognized as "covered" for reimbursement such as a parent having a better understanding of their child's needs, or an improved parent-child connection.
While providers must provide services which promote developmental skill acquisition which is recognizable to both parents and payors, we will discuss and recognize the other types of "progress" which may be considered as "soft signs" of the positive impact of best practice early intervention service.
