Neonatal Complications Part 1

Description

This two part workshop was designed for service coordinators to review topics related to the neonatal period including prematurity, retinopathy of prematurity, BPD, brachial plexus injury, persistence of primitive reflexes. intra ventricular hemorrhage, and sensory impairments arising as complications of prematurity or birth trauma.

Case examples were used to illustrate cases in which neonatal complications led to developmental delays and disabilities. Ways for Service Coordinators to recognize neonatal complications and how to appropriately refer were covered.
