Description |
This Integrated Provider Workshop will present findings from current research on normative parental socialization practices with toddlers in a sample of urban, low-income African American families. Specifically, the study examines the content of what parents say (e.g. the language of time) to their young children during toddlerhood and its relationship with measures of children’s preschool cognitive abilities. The presentation will speak to the principles of Early Intervention and the implications for the current and future work of Early Intervention professionals with infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities and their families.
