Adapting for Children with Special Needs

Description

Participants learn how about play stages which will in turn help participants identify specific goals before adapting a toy in order to support optimal development. One toy can reach a variety of IFSP goals, as a result this type of workshop supports collaborative relationships among the participants of the IFSP team. The training will use picture examples, and case studies to illustrate how to implement these adaptation ideas effectively. The training will explore how to use items with the families home to help children learn new skills, help families become active participants and will help participants explore how to embeed IFSP goals into natural routines, which in turn will also support families.
