Working as a Parent Liaison in Illinois' Early Intervention System

Description Designed for parent liaisons currently working with Child & Family Connections offices and/or other agencies as a parent liaison OR those in process of obtaining a credential as a parent liaison in the IL Early Intervention System, this training not only reviews the requirements, desired traits, and responsibilities of parent liaisons, but offers 'next level' discussion/activities to identify challenges to and insights for effectively communicating with families.

Documentation requirements and strategies will be shared. Resources relevant to understanding and working with diverse families will also be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring resources and supports, found to be useful in their daily work, to share.

Participants are required to have completed the Systems Overview training and the online parent liaison training prior to attending this session.

PRE-REQUISITE: Online Systems Overview Training AND Online Parent Liaison Training

Registration fee will be collected at the door. Cash, Check/Money Order payable to the University of Illinois will be accepted.
