Understanding the basics of Sensory Processing and Behavior

Description

In this training we will discuss an overview of the interrelatedness of the variable sensory processing 'profiles' of differing individuals and how these sensory styles may impact behavior and relationships.
We will discuss the general understood catagories of sensory styles in terms of processing, including typical and atypical. This will include a description of how sensory processing works, and when it varies, which may for example, result in sensory seeking or avoiding.
We will discuss compenssatory stratagies that infants/toddlers and people in general develop in an effort to maintain a regulated state. Also included will be how these strategies may 'look' in a child, and how they may or may not impact developing relationships.
