Resource Version: Understanding Illinois' Systems of Payments

A resource version of the online training Understanding Illinois' Systems of Payments has been developed for service coordinators, families and other early intervention stakeholders who have an interest in deepening their understanding of funding sources and the use of public and private insurance as well as family fees in lllinois' early intervention system.

Part One: Overview of the Illinois Systems of Payments

Part One of this four part training includes an overview of how Illinois funds it's Part C Early Intervention Program, information about what it means to be a payor of last resort, and suggestions for discussing the systems of payments with families as the Notice of System of Payments and Fees is reviewed. http://ucpnet.adobeconnect.com/p390s9bc1mj/

Part Two: Private Insurance

Part Two includes four sub-parts that will review the benefits families may experience when they utilize their insurance and service coordinators will have an opportunity to practice the discussions they have with families as they review the systems of payment and the notice and consent to use insurance.

Part Three has two sections that review the use of public insurance.

Part Four: Family Participation Fee

Part Four will focus on Family Participation Fees. We will recap some information from Part One that talked about the family fee as a funding source and review the EI requirements for family fees.
