Early Intervention Public Hearing Notice - Changes to Policy & Procedure Manual (Posted August 2012)

Pursuant to Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as amended in 2004, the Illinois Department of Human Services has posted a proposed revised policy and procedure manual to bring the Illinois Early Intervention Program into compliance with Part C federal regulations. Part C of IDEA addresses services for children birth to 3 years of age with developmental disabilities or delays and their families. Revision to the policies and procedures for the operation of Child and Family Connections offices will be posted at least 60 days prior to being submitted. Copies for review are available at all 25 Child and Family Connections offices. For Illinois residents, you may locate the CFC office nearest you by calling 800/323-4769.

Public comment will be taken on the application for 30 days. Comments will be accepted beginning August 13, 2012. All comments must be received in writing by close of day September 14, 2012. Please send written comments to:

Public hearings must be held on this revised policy and procedure manual during the 60-day publication period (with notice of the hearings provided at least 30 days prior to the hearings). The dates and location of the public hearings are listed below. Each person presenting oral testimony is asked to provide a written copy of his/her testimony at the time the testimony is presented.
